The entry level pay of an IAS officer is Rs.56100 along with the allowances like Dearness Allowances, Travel Allowance and House Rent Allowances.
Paper Pattern and Syllabus for IAS Exam:
There are two compulsory papers of 200 marks each: General Studies Paper-1, General Studies Paper-2. Both objective and subjective questions will be there in the paper. The written examination is the main one. A lot of hard work and dedication is required if you are willing to appear for one of the 24 civil services exams in India. A candidate’s rank will depend on the marks scored in mains and in the interview. Every year, 10 lakhs candidates register for civil services and around 5 lakh students appear for the exam. 1000 students are selected from all the 24 civil services exams.
