The idol of Lord Ram, depicted as a five-year-old child (Ram Lalla), is made of black stone and is 51 inches tall.
The idol is carved by Karnataka's renowned sculptor Arun Yogiraj
The idol will be installed in the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22.
Worship of the idol will begin on January 16, and it will be installed in the sanctum sanctorum on January 18.
The idol's length and installation height are designed so that on Ram Navami, sunrays will directly fall on Lord Ram's forehead at noon.
The idol was selected considering the softness of the face, look in the eyes, smile, and body.
Water and milk will not have any adverse effect on the stone.
The ceremony will be held on January 22, presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with other dignitaries attending.
The Bharatiya Janata Party plans to live-stream the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of the Ram temple at the booth level across the country. The temple will be opened for devotees on January 23.
